View music on the grid

Quick Start Scenario 1 : View Music Played on the Grid

tonespace is about visualizing (and also playing) chord intervals on a grid that represents musical scales and keys.

The simplest and fastest way to get a feel of how that looks like is to play some music on its grid.

tonespace contains a few built-in midi tracks that can demonstrate this nicely. For instance following steps play E.Satie's famous Gymnopédie no.1 (in D Major and G Major)

set space to Octaves [1:12]

set key to D

set scale to Major

set trigger to Mouse click triggers cell

set midi in to Midi track

set track to Gymnopédie no. 1

set midi out to Built-in synth

press the transport play button

watch how the notes are highlighted as cells on the grid and initially fall nicely within the D Major scale (Later the music switches to G Major)
